This is Coach Mak's first season with the Greensboro Panthers.  She played at CSF and CCA/Piedmont Classical in High School as an outside and a setter. She received All-Conference, MVP, and All-State for all 4 years.

Coach Mak started coaching rec volleyball at the YMCA when she was 15 years old and has now coached for 9 years.

Coach Mak stated "This is my first year coaching home school volleyball, but last year I coached at Page High School. I am very excited to work with everyone and I know this is going to be a great season!!"

Danielle Bull, Assistant Coach (JV Team)

This is my first year coaching, however, volleyball is a scene that I’ve been accustomed to since elementary school. I first discovered my love for the sport after watching my older sister pepper in our backyard and after tagging along for many games. I started out playing rec volleyball at the YMCA when I was 8 years old and then proceeded to play throughout the years at NC Power Proehlific. I continued on to play a few seasons of sand volleyball after moving to the beach. I started this year coaching at the Spears YMCA. I’m excited that I get the opportunity to expand my knowledge as a coach with the Greensboro Panthers!

Outside of the court, I enjoy spending my time reading, going out on hikes, or doing yoga in nature and creating different variations of art. I am also a full-time student at UNCG studying Business Administration.

Brenda Harris, Head Coach (MS Team)

Coach Brenda has been a part of the Greensboro Panthers volleyball family since 2015, starting as a middle school player. Her years with the Panthers created a foundation of love for the game and also built her confidence and skill as a player. She has further built on those skills by playing with Champion Volleyball Club for the past three years (indoor and sand).  What she has learned and the relationships she has built have been invaluable and it has gained her the consideration to play volleyball at the collegiate level.

She serves as a leader at Bridge of Hope Church as an assistant teacher teaching students from Pre-K through Middle School since 2016. The experience she has obtained has helped her be an effective leader and mentor to all student groups.

Her coaching philosophy is to create a love for the game while developing the skill set to be a confident player. A player who has the desire to grow and be a great teammate on and off the court.

In Brenda's first year as our Middle School coach, she led the 2021 Panthers to win the State Championship!

Fun Fact: Coach Brenda is a phenomenal baker and makes the absolute best vegan, gluten-free macarons!

Coach Brenda's certifications:

  • USAV Member

  • CR Junior Referee

  • NFHS/CDC Concussion in Sports

  • USAV IMPACT

  • USAV SafeSport

Gracie Bass, Team Assistant

My name is Gracie Bass and I am 16 years old. I started playing volleyball three years ago and have been on a competitive club team for two years. During my years of volleyball, I have discovered a love for teaching young kids about the sport, which I did through a camp last summer. I am currently working on getting a junior referee training certification where I will be able to grow my knowledge of the game. I am looking forward to this upcoming volleyball season where I can help out with the teams, meet new people, and possibly keep stats.
